Individual Eye Lash Extension Procedure By Anna K.

My new favorite thing of all time...NovaLash Eye Lash Extensions!
They are permanent with regular touch-ups and eliminate the need for mascara...no more clumping or fall out. You wake up in the morning and you have beautiful long sexy lashes :)

So this is how it works:
I ask the client to come with no mascara or makeup on. Upon consultation, we decide what length and look would fit best for her life style.  Then she would lay down on the leather massage table which is extra soft and comfortable.  I would cover her with a blanket for some extra comfort and have her close her eyes and relax for an hour or two while I do my magic with the lashes. (If you like you can bring your headphones or even fall asleep) But it is important to stay still and quiet with minimum conversation.

I apply under eye stickers to protect the lower lashes then comb through the lashes to separate them.  In this video I was using 12mm from the mid to the outer corner, 10mm in between for a natural effect and 8mm on the inner corners.  We were going for a more natural look so the end result came out to be between a half to a full lash look. The whole procedure took about an hour and a half.

Please note: the procedure is very safe if you are doing it with a certified lash extensionist. This doesn't damage your natural lashes at all. The glue I use is manufactured in the US. It is United States pharmaceutical grade quality and approved for the use around the eye area. Most glues out there on the market are manufactured in China and are a lower grade glue which could be damaging to your eyes.

Kathleen's Weddings April 9th 2011 Woodbury, NY

Kathleen came to me for an airbrush makeup trial and loved the feel of the foundation on her skin. We tested out 2 different looks and chose a more natural eye makeup application for the day of.  I had the pleasure of working with Kathleen on her Special day and with her 6 bridesmaids. They were all so delightful, fun and outgoing and this was all from 7 o'clock in the morning. Below are some pictures of the girls who did airbrush makeup.

Eyelash Extensions - Which look fits your lifestyle best?

Different Lifestyles- Different Reasons for Wearing Extensions

The Busy Professional (physicians, lawyers, real estate professionals, nurses, sales executives, psychologists and judges)

This woman has limited time but needs to look put-together at all times. She might have a job that involves long hours and/ or being in the public eye. She wants to look professional at all hours of the day, and does not have time to touch up her makeup throughout the day. She may or may not prefer to work with slightly finer, shorter extensions, because she can go a little longer between touch-up appointments. Depending on her personality and occupation, the professional woman may or may not want her extensions to appear to be real eyelashes. In more conservative professions, it may be socially and professionally unpopular to look as though one is wearing artificial lashes. Popular extensions for the busy professional are fine-medium (0.15 and 0.20mm) extensions in 6mm, 8mm, 10mm and 12mm lengths.

The Athlete (fitness instructors, professional athletes, exercise enthusiasts, golfers, tennis players, swimmers, boaters, scuba divers, etc.)

This woman spends most or all of her free time involved with sports and outdoor activities. Her main reason for making lash extensions part of her beauty routine is because they are waterproof, sweat-proof and low maintenance. This person spends a lot of time outdoors, showers sometimes twice daily and needs a hassle-free beauty routine. She may or may not like to wear makeup when not working out or playing sports, but she feels she looks better with definition to the eye area. Popular looks can range from short to long and fine to thick depending on the client’s natural eyelashes and personality.

The Glamorous Client (actresses, professional dancers, TV anchors, social butterflies, beauty professionals, interior designers and other extroverted, glamorous personality types)

This client generally has a more “high maintenance” beauty routine. She might wear a good amount of eye makeup. Her reason for wanting eyelash extensions is usually to add length, even if it creates an artificial appearance. This client might request the longest, thickest extensions available. She may also insist on using extensions that are too long for her own natural eyelashes to support. When faced with deciding between more frequent touch-up appointments and shorter extensions, she will usually opt for more frequent touch-ups if she can afford it. This client may or may not already be accustomed to wearing traditional strip or cluster artificial eyelashes. The most popular glamorous extensions include thick extensions (0.25mm) in 10, 12, and 14mm lengths.

The Natural Client

The natural client is quite different from the glamorous client. Generally speaking, this client uses lash extensions as a replacement for makeup. This means that the extensions are a very important part of her beauty routine. In fact, this might be one of the only beauty services this client receives on a regular basis. Sometimes “natural” clients have makeup allergies. Sometimes they just don’t like applying makeup every day. The one thing they do have in common is that they want to look good with little to no effort. Because this client typically does not wear much makeup, the extensions should look neither artificial nor invisible. This client often requests a look that is natural but “shows up”. When selecting extensions, the best course of action is always to match the extensions to the client’s natural eyelashes. A good match means no more than one size thicker and one size longer than the natural eyelashes.
